In the practice of Yoga, the beginner knows nothing more then the concept of Yoga itself. But after a while, you begin to realize that there are many different forms of Yoga which have been developed over the years by various masters. Not every form is right for every person and some people will benefit more from one style then another.

Kundalini Yoga is one of those such styles which you can practice. It is considered to be both a meditative as well as physical form of the art which is most closely associated with Hatha Yoga; it consists of a series of advanced poses that have become known as Kriya. By tradition, Kundalini Yoga is considered to be a purely spiritual science which is designed to lead its practitioners to enlightenment.

While today just about anyone can get involved with Kundalini Yoga, it was traditionally only passed on from a master to a disciple once that master had deemed the student qualified to practice it. It is believed that one who practices Kundalini Yoga without being ready to follow its methods strictly will suffer from psychic disturbances or even suffer from mental damage. These conditions are even known in the psychiatric world as Kundalini Syndrome.

However, if you have been deemed ready to begin learning Kundalini Yoga, they by all means enjoy this very advanced form. But make sure that you are doing it under the proper guidance of a spiritual master and make sure that you are following his or her directions and suggestions completely. In the end though, you will feel better and more complete then you have ever felt which is what makes practicing any form of Yoga a great choice for just about anyone out there today.
